Lyric and her siblings- Orion, Sterling, Sage, & Atlas- were discovered in an old storage shed on a family property where their mother had not been seen in three days. The neighbor's dogs across the creek had been loose, and momma simply vanished after they were spotted. The family could not take care of five, 3.5 week old kittens, so we reached out to help. As the the homeowner opened his storage building to get the babies, he started placing the scared little kittens in our cat carrier. When he got to Lyric- she instantly bit me and hissed in protest!
Tiny, full of parasites and an insatiable desire to live, Lyric and her brothers and sisters settled quickly in to bottle feeding and were soon sleeping 3-4 hours at a time. It was a huge milestone. And, in spite of a recent transition from bottle feeding to eating from a dish, Lyric refuses to eat on her own. She MUST have her bottle, no matter what!
Lyric has been the only one so far to be able to jump out of the baby enclosure at night, preferring to sleep with a human instead of her siblings. She is persistent too- leaping up and forward with all her might until she is able to scramble up over the edge an on to the human couch. As soon as she finds someone to snuggle her, she goes to sleep. Follow along with this sassy little girl's adventures as she navigates the world around her.
